District Message
Parents, We are currently within the 2nd 9-weeks attendance/grading period. Our staff strives each and every day to give your child the very best education possible. Please feel free to call the District if you have any questions regarding your child. Progress Reports will go out on December 2nd. Second 9-weeks ends January 20th.
In order to reach our Academic goals, the District has an Accelerated Instruction Plan. Our Accelerated Instruction mandates: Any student whose academic performance is consistently unsatisfactory (70 or below), does not meet state mandated requirements or who fails any subject area test will be required to participate in Accelerated Instruction. Accelerated Instruction shall be designed to enable the struggling student to perform at grade level. Furthermore, students who are required to participate in any Accelerated Instruction program will be closely monitored to ensure appropriate progress. Accelerated Instruction programs may include: Educator Lead Tutoring, Individualized Instruction, Daily Personal Academic Exercises, Peer Lead or Mentor Tutoring and/or Parent Academic Contracts. Parents of students who require Accelerated Instruction sessions will be notified in writing. Notices must be signed by parent/guardian and returned.
a) Any student who fails ANY subject area test will be required to participate in and begin receiving accelerated instruction in that subject area.
b) Any student whose academic performance is consistently unsatisfactory in ANY subject area will be required to participate in Accelerated Instruction.
c) Participation may require the student to attend before or after regular school hours, Saturdays and/or may also include times of the year outside normal school operations.
d) Students MUST COMPLETE all required accelerated instruction assignments in order to be promoted or placed in the next grade level.
*Schedule Accelerated Instruction session attendance is required; non-attendance will be recorded in conjunction with state compulsory attendance laws.
SATURDAY SCHOOL - Grades 3rd through 12th
The Advantage Academy Saturday School program provides an opportunity for students to close gaps in learning as well as receive additional individualized instruction. The program is designed to enhance students’ growth in academic achievements, self esteem, school attendance, and other areas in which students may need improvements. Saturday School hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m. Students must arrive on time and students will not be allowed to leave early. Parents, please make preparations to pick your students up ON TIME. Saturday School Dates are as followed:
